About Andrea Learned - Sustainability Thought Leadership Strategist, Seattle WA
Andrea Learned is the Founder of Learned On, LLC. She is a sustainability-focused writer and communications strategist specializing in digital thought leadership. Her early career success in marketing to women, culminating with the publishing of her book, Don’t Think Pink, gives her current sustainability and leadership work an underlying gender lens as well (see her Solutions Journal piece, Gender and the Sustainable Brain ). After a year serving as a We Mean Business Coalition social engagement strategist around COP21, Andrea has returned to her independent consultancy, and is back to leveraging her networks and guiding clients to leadership platforms for a carbon footprint-countering, positive collective impact.
In addition to being an author, Andrea contributed radio commentary for Vermont Public Radio and has written for 8+ years on corporate sustainability and leadership. Her take on the ideas, companies and leaders worth noting in that space has published in The Guardian, The Huffington Post, GreenBiz, and TriplePundit, among others. Andrea was included in the March 2013 TriplePundit.com list of Top Sustainability Bloggers on Twitter and made the 2015 Trust Across America list of trusted leaders.
After being nudged by a friend to ride her bike a few miles to work in Portland, OR in the 1990s, Andrea has stuck with it for twenty some years. Whether Bellingham, WA, Burlington, VT, or, now, Seattle, WA, her bicycling rule of thumb is “think bike first”- riding to any meeting or event within 5 miles – in, almost, any weather. Carting her two dogs around is one of few obvious reasons to ever use her twenty-year old station wagon.
