With this webinar we're announcing the Pedal Love Track at the League of American Bicyclist's National Bike Summit March 6-9, 2017 in Washington D.C. The Pedal Love Track will focus on "hands on" trainings in storytelling & communications in support of the League's new Active Transportation Leadership Institute.

About Our Presenters

Melissa Balmer is a writer, media relations specialist and speaker dedicated to growing more active, sustainable, mindful mobility. As the former Media Director for the California Bicycle Coalition, and Founder of Pedal Love, she has placed stories in local, statewide, and national news outlets such as the Associated Press, Bicycling Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, KABC News, Los Angeles Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, Momentum Magazine, City Lab, the Sacramento Bee, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Texas Standard, Reuters and more.

Maria Contreras Tebbutt is the founder and director of The Bike Campaign and Bike Garage in Woodland California, a non-profit, volunteer, self-sustaining bicycle advocacy organization and "bike kitchen" making it possible for anyone to own and ride a bike.  The organization's #1 goal is to reduce car trips to schools and workplaces while improving the quality of life for everyone. Maria is also a certified instructor with the League of American Bicyclists.

Andrea Learned is the Founder of Learned On, LLC. She is a sustainability-focused writer and communications strategist specializing in digital thought leadership. She is the author ofDon’t Think Pink, and her take on the ideas, companies, and leaders worth noting in that space has published in The Guardian, The Huffington Post, GreenBiz, and TriplePundit, among others. Andrea was included in the March 2013 TriplePundit.com list of Top Sustainability Bloggers on Twitter and made the 2015 Trust Across America list of trusted leaders.

Teri Sawyer is the Director of the award winning T&Co., a marketing, PR, social media, branding and market research agency. specializing in marketing, PR, social media, branding and market research for technology, telecom, media, and entertainment clients for both both B2B and B2C. Her client experience includes Toshiba, Deloitte & Touche and Pedego Electric Bikes.

After thirteen years leading the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, Alex Doty started as the Executive Director of the League of American Bicyclists in 2015. Proud achievements during his time in Philadelphia include creation of the regional trail network the Circuit, the Better Bike Share Partnership, Cadence Youth Cycling and building a great team that thrived on meeting ambitious goals. Alex's priority at the League is to better connect Bicycle Friendly America and Smart Cycling to local and state advocacy groups and bike clubs, and successfully launch the Active Transportation Leadership Institute.
